Disruptive Technologies, Utopian Worlds, Hybridizations Among Humans and Non-Humans In this contribution, a necessary disambiguation between antithetic political visions (utopian versus dystopian narratives) of the future is carried out by tackling the disruptive socio-tecno-innovations of our contemporary times. The aim is to give a philosophical account of «posthuman»; this expression is to be understood as referring to symbols and phenomena different from those associated with «transhuman». Such a clarification allows us to conceive a hypothetical polity made up of humans, hybrids (cyborgs, enhanced organisms), artificial beings (machines, humanoid robots) who are free and equal, at least in principle.

Abstract
Disruptive Technologies, Utopian Worlds, Hybridizations Among Humans and Non-Humans In this contribution, a necessary disambiguation between antithetic political visions (utopian versus dystopian narratives) of the future is carried out by tackling the disruptive socio-tecno-innovations of our contemporary times. The aim is to give a philosophical account of «posthuman»; this expression is to be understood as referring to symbols and phenomena different from those associated with «transhuman». Such a clarification allows us to conceive a hypothetical polity made up of humans, hybrids (cyborgs, enhanced organisms), artificial beings (machines, humanoid robots) who are free and equal, at least in principle.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
