The paper presents a first bibliometric map analysis of e-waste researches from 2001 to 2011 providing the relations between the 35 most used terms in the field. More than 400 articles have been mapped with the help of a computer program called VOSviewer. From the interpretation of the map it is possible to conclude that there are six main cluster of interest in the field of e-waste research. These six clusters, in turn, can be grouped in two areas: one that refers to management assessment and policy, the other that refers to chemical and health issues. Conclusions shade lights also on how the streams of research moved during the whole period of interest. Relevant needs for further research are finally presented.
