The volume offer an analysis and critique of the main European integration grand theories and develops a federalist framework theory. Even in contemporary literature federalism is the only grand theory which is considered referring to writings of the fifties. However just as neo-functionalism or intergovernmenalism, federalism underwent a deep theoretical revision, trying to exploit some useful insights from other theories. The volume uses these developments to summarise a framework theory without any teleological purpose, better suited than other existing theories to explain the agenda and the timing of European integration.

Abstract
The volume offer an analysis and critique of the main European integration grand theories and develops a federalist framework theory. Even in contemporary literature federalism is the only grand theory which is considered referring to writings of the fifties. However just as neo-functionalism or intergovernmenalism, federalism underwent a deep theoretical revision, trying to exploit some useful insights from other theories. The volume uses these developments to summarise a framework theory without any teleological purpose, better suited than other existing theories to explain the agenda and the timing of European integration.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
